Dr. Michael “Mike” T. Robbins received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. It was here Dr. Robbins found his love of nutrition and began his professional journey. Following graduation, he completed a rotating small animal medicine, surgery, and emergency internship at the BluePearl Pet Hospital in Louisville, KY. He then traveled to Raleigh, NC to complete a residency in small animals in clinical nutrition. During his time at North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Robbins oversaw nutritional recommendations for all ICU patients; formulated and managed a plethora of assisted enteral feeding cases; assisted in teaching rounds, wet labs, and didactic lessons; and provided both internal and external veterinary nutritional consultation on convoluted cases.
Dr. Robbins then began working in the pet food industry in 2019 received his specialty in Small Animal Clinical Nutrition and became boarded with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2021.
During his career in the industry, he has held multiple positions focused mainly on supporting and managing education, maintaining and building relationships with key opinion leaders, providing veterinary nutritional insight in key marketing areas, and most recently began his professional journey with Purina as a Veterinary Communications Manager.
