Directions

Feeding for Adult Maintenance: You must feed Pro Plan to your adult cat “free choice” throughout the day, rather than as just a single feeding only at mealtime. Food intake required to maintain ideal body condition will vary, depending on age, activity and environment. Watch your cat’s weight and adjust food amounts accordingly. If you have a kitten, or a pregnant or nursing cat, you should continue feeding Pro Plan Focus Kitten Chicken & Rice Formula. Provide adequate fresh water in a clean container daily. For your pet’s health, see your veterinarian regularly. Making the Switch to Pro Plan: Although you’ll be anxious to see the difference Pro Plan can make in your cat, please allow 7 to 10 days to ease the transition from your cat’s current food. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more Pro Plan until you’re feeding Pro Plan exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets.

Pieces are too big for small kittens

The morsels need to be much much smaller for small kittens. They are the size of regular cat food and it's too big for my babies to eat.

While it seems to be the same cat food as Purina's adult cat food flavors, our kitten much prefers the adult food with the same flavor type. Will eat it if he's hungry; may ignore it later in the day when he's had a few small meals of adult food.Little or no grain or other non-meat ingredients. Cats can't digest grain and other fillers used in some cat food types.It's important for kittens up to about 1 year to get the DHA supplement in their chow. DHA enhances development of brain and vision system.Recommended for first year of life.

Says for kittens but...

We have 3 senior cats and they absolutely love this. Yes it says for kittens but it's high in protein and calories so perfect for our seniors. Last bag was the Pro Plan Urinary Tract and they absolutely refused to eat it. I ended up feeding it to the local ferals who were more than happy to eat it. Pro Plan Kitten is what we'll stay with for now.
